A History of Caring

Founded by Father John Dussman in 1961, Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center serves Glenview and surrounding communities. Maryhaven is conveniently located on the north side of Lake Avenue, just west of Waukegan Road in downtown Glenview.


Comprehensive services

Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center offers comprehensive long-term and short-term skilled and intermediate nursing and rehabilitative care ( PDF, 87 KB), including:

  • Intravenous (IV) therapy
  • Wound care
  • Short-term respite care
  • Dedicated Alzheimer's unit and dementia care
  • Hospice care
  • Physical therapy

  • Podiatry, optometry and dental care
  • Spiritual services for all residents, as well as Catholic Mass, Communion Services, Rosary and devotions

Meet the Administrator

Sara Szumski is the new Administrator of Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ms. Szumski has many years of health care experience, particularly in skilled and intermediate care. Most recently, she served as the Administrator for Margaret Manor North and Sacred Heart Home, both in Chicago. Prior to that, Ms. Szumski was the Administrator of the Lemont Center in Lemont, Illinois. She has a Master of Arts degree in Human Relations from Governors State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from Eastern Illinois University. Ms. Szumski is very active in her community and has held the positions of Board member, Treasurer and President of the local Council for the Girl Scouts of America.

Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is licensed by the State of Illinois Department of Public Health, and it is Medicare and Medicaid certified.
