The Varian 600C Linear Accelerator delivers accurate beams of radiation to target tumors with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue. Available treatments include external beam radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), brachytherapy (includes prostate seed therapy, low dose radiation therapy and Sr90 beta ray eye application).

Our Services

External Beam Radiation Therapy — A high energy linear accelerator is used to deliver a precise dose of radiation to the tumor area without damaging healthy tissue.

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) — With computer-controlled X-rays, we deliver highly accurate radiation doses to tumors. IMRT allows the radiation dose to conform more precisely to the 3-D shape of the tumor by controlling the intensity of the radiation beam.

Brachytherapy — This computer-aided technology is used to optimize distribution of the radiation dose by conforming to the patient’s unique anatomy. Localized radiation is delivered interstitially or intracavitarily for cancers such as uterine, vaginal or rectal. Examples include:

• Prostate Seed Implants — A form of brachytherapy, tiny radioactive 'seeds' are implanted in the prostate to target the tumor and control the area exposed to radiation.
• Low Dose Radiation Therapy — In low-dose-rate treatment, cancer cells receive continuous low-dose radiation from the source over a period of several days.
• Sr90 Beta Ray Eye Application — Quick, precise treatment of superficial tumors of the eyelids and conjunctiva, vernal conjunctivitis, vascularization of the cornea, and corneal ulcers.
