Saint Joseph Hospital offers advanced medical care for newborns and infants. From normal pregnancies to high-risk deliveries, we offer a wide range of prenatal and postnatal diagnostic tests and treatments as well as consultations from surgical and pediatric subspecialists.
The Highest Level of Care
Saint Joseph Hospital is designated a Level III Perinatal Facility by the Illinois Department of Public Health. This is the highest designation a hospital can receive. This means our neonatal intensive care unit has the capacity to care for high-risk monthers and premature babies.
- Equipped to care for infants born as young as 23 weeks gestation.
- Experience caring for babies with low birth weight, congenital abnormalities, babies requiring ventilator assistance, and other medical complications.
- Multidisciplinary care teams available 24 hours a day, including, maternal-fetal specialists, specially trained obstetricians, neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and nurses.
- Ability to care for high-risk mothers, including women over age 40, women carrying multiples, and women with diabetes, high blood pressure, or other complications.
