Sports-Medicine Specialist Helps Patient Get Back on Track
Horseback riding and tennis are possible again for Mary Rozmiarek - thanks to acupuncture treatments at Seton Family Health Center.
The West Loop resident had been sidelined with various medical conditions over the years, but is literally back in the saddle again. Rozmiarek credits Sharyl Truty, M.D., for helping her regain her health. Dr. Truty is a board-certified physician in family medicine and sports medicine at Seton Family Health Center. She also is trained in acupuncture.
"Dr. Truty asked if I would consider acupuncture," said Rozmiarek, a regional group manager for an insurance company. "I said, 'No, I'm afraid of needles.'" But, Rozmiarek reconsidered, and after only one session (one-hour) of acupuncture with Dr. Truty, she felt relief.
According to Rozmiarek, the physician is caring and concerned about her patients' needs.
"She fixed me," Rozmiarek said. "Dr. Truty is very personal and makes you feel very comfortable - at ease with the process. She spends about 45 minutes with you. She is such a nice person and she gets results."
Doctor Provides Full Spectrum of Care for One Family
When it comes to Seton Family Health Center, it's definitely a family affair for the Ritzemas.
Steve and Natalie, husband and wife, and their son, David, born in August 2009, are all patients of Laura Wally, M.D., a board-certified family medicine physician.
The Old Town residents have received a full spectrum of care from Dr. Wally - from prenatal care when Natalie was pregnant to ongoing pediatric visits for David and adult care for mom and dad. The couple said they have formed a "tight relationship" with their physician.
"We have a relationship with her because of her demeanor - she's very personable," said Steve, a career resources manager for a non-profit organization. "She communicates very well and we've laughed a lot with her. She never seems too busy during appointments and she takes time to answer questions."
"She is caring, friendly and very personable," said Natalie, a part-time occupational therapist. "Having a child is one of the biggest things. We never felt uncomfortable with her. She is willing to answer questions - here are your options. She treats us well and gives us undivided attention."
Caring, Attentive Doctor and Staff Make a Difference
Having a doctor who can take care of all her health care needs is a plus for Brenda Hernandez, a patient at Seton Family Health Center, which is part of Saint Joseph Hospital.
In 2008, Hernandez, a receptionist in Chicago, made her first appointment with Renata Gazzi, M.D., board-certified in family medicine. She has been going back ever since to the family medicine specialist for health and wellness care – such as routine exams, gynecological care and breast health.
"Dr. Gazzi is one of the best - very caring," said Hernandez, who resides in the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago. "She's very informative, and sits downs and asks questions."
Hernandez said the team at Seton - nurses and staff - work well together, are caring and remember "everything about you," which is important to her.
"The nurses and the doctor's assistant are very good," said Hernandez, whose sister and mother also are patients of Dr. Gazzi. Her family referred her to Dr. Gazzi.
