Weight and Health

Obesity is a disease - one that affects over 30 percent of Americans*. It has been linked to a wide array of health problems, including heart disease, hypertension, Type-2 diabetes, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, stroke and cancer. The National Institutes of Health define obesity as a Body Mass Index of over 30 (BMI is a measure of body fat based on height and weight.
