What is the Magnet Recognition Program®?

The Magnet Recognition Program was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence. Recognizing quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice, the Magnet Recognition Program provides consumers with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care that they can expect to receive.

What does the ANCC look for in Magnet hospitals?

There are 5 Model Components as the primary basis for achieving Magnet recognition, with the14 Forces of Magnetism remaining as the foundation of the program. The 5 Model Components are:
