Patient Care Addition
As part of our continuing commitment to our community, Resurrection Medical Center's Patient Care Addition focuses on healing in a whole new way. Based on scientific research, we created a space that provides optimum care for the body, mind and soul, helping our patients heal faster and better.
You'll notice the difference inside and out. The building is covered in glass, flooding the indoors with warmth and light. All rooms are private, providing a safer, more comfortable experience for patients, visitors and staff. And healing elements are incorporated everywhere - beautiful artwork on every floor, calming colors, carefully chosen plantings outside and a tranquil garden.
Private Rooms
Guided by the latest scientific research, we designed every aspect of the addition to promote healing. This holistic approach gives as much weight to our patients' comfort, safety and well-being as it does to quality medical care. It has been proven, for example, that patients in private rooms have a better experience - lower infection rates, shorter stays, less noise and much less stress. That's why all of our rooms are single with many comforts of home - a flat screen television, clothes wardrobe and patient-controlled room temperature and lighting.
Family Comfort
For patients, the presence of family and friends is vital to the healing process. Our addition supports loved ones with oversized, light-filled rooms, a sleeper sofa to spend the night, a family workstation with internet access and a lounge on every floor. Adding to comfort, safety and staff efficiency, our innovative design divides each room into three distinct zones for patients, families and staff.
Healthy Environment
Research shows that exposure to nature greatly enhances healing. This was our guiding principle as we created an environment that is better for our patients, while also earth-friendly. A rooftop healing garden, for instance, offers a quiet, reflective space for patients and families while reducing the energy needed to cool the building. And every room overlooks a lovely landscaped area that fosters calm and relaxation.
Quality of Care
Now we'll be working closer to our patients so we can be even more responsive to their needs. Using strategies gained from research and from our own physicians, nurses and patients, we designed a space conducive to quality performance from staff. In the floor plan, nursing stations are decentralized and placed between every two rooms with windows for patient monitoring. This increases the amount of contact doctors and nurses have with patients.
Advanced Technology
To offer patients the benefits of leading-edge care, the building houses the latest technology in a state-of-the-art Cardiodiagnostics Center as well as in every room in our Intensive Care, Medical Surgical and Rehab Units. In keeping with our holistic approach, the Cardiodiagnostics Center is also focused on supporting patients. There are separate areas for inpatients and outpatients, private conference rooms for families to confer with doctors and diagnostics designed for speed and the comfort of every patient.
