Family Orientation Meetings
Families of patients admitted to a long-term acute care hospital need a comprehensive orientation program that is sensitive to the needs of the family. The families who have attended Holy Family Medical Center's Family Orientation Meetings have found them to be most informative and helpful.
Families can attend a meeting during the first few days of the patient's arrival. The purpose of these meetings is to welcome and acquaint families with the many services, therapies and protocols HFMC offers not only for the patient, but for the family as well. The meetings afford the family an opportunity to ask questions and provides for a smooth transition to our facility from the acute care hospital.
For convenience, meetings are offered three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Families are given a one-hour presentation by our nurse/counselor or social worker. They then receive a handbook for personal reference. Within the handbook, names and telephone numbers of department managers are listed, providing the opportunity to directly assist in being part of the total healthcare team.
Holy Family Medical Center is conveniently located at the corner of Golf and River Roads in northwest suburban Des Plaines. The hospital offers a friendly and welcoming environment in an easy to access facility with ample free parking.
