Facts and Information
Holy Family Medical Center was founded in 1961 and is Illinois' only faith-based specialty hospital caring for medically-complex patients, and the only such hospital in the entire northwest Chicagoland area.
Holy Family Medical Center provides care for patients who are critically ill and must be hospitalized for several weeks. Patients are medically-complex and may have respiratory disorders (including tracheotomy), heart conditions, kidney disease, cancer, a severe wound or other types of critical health problems that require more intensive care. A majority of our patients are transferred from critical care units at other hospitals.
Many outpatient services are also offered, including an Immediate Care Center. Others services include same day surgery, digestive health, medical imaging, women's health, sleep disorders, cardiology, laboratory, occupational health and physical, occupational and speech therapies.
An Immediate Care Center is also located on-site and features convenient hours that include evenings and weekends. Physician care is available without an appointment for treatment and relief of minor illnesses and injuries, such as fevers; ear infections; cold or flu; upset stomach; allergic reactions; sprains or fractures; minor burns; bruises and cuts, abrasions or lacerations.
Keys to Recovery offers a variety of substance abuse treatment programs. These include inpatient medical detoxification, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, outpatient and DUI services.

Our goal is to provide excellent care.
In pursuit of that goal, your health care team is committed to ensuring that the care, treatment, and services you receive are both high quality and safe. As part of our commitment, we seek accreditation from The Joint Commission (TJC). The Joint Commission provides unscheduled inspections to determine if we are in compliance with standards that they set for quality, patient safety, and the safety of the environment. If you feel, for any reason, that we have not met this goal during your stay, we encourage you to let us know by contacting a member of your care team during your stay or by contacting our Customer Relations Department at 630.801.2560.
In addition, as a condition of our accreditation, we are required to advise you that you may also contact The Joint Commission or other hospital regulatory agencies directly to express your concerns. You may do this without contacting us. The following provides information about the ways in which you can contact The Joint Commission or other regulatory agencies.
