Roueen Rafeyan, MD

Dr. Rafeyan received his medical degree from the Istanbul University School of Medicine. Since completing a psychiatry residency at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, IL, Dr. Rafeyan has maintained a private practice and is an attending physician at several community hospitals. His clinical interests include medication management, and addictive and mood disorders.
Dr. Rafeyan is fluent in Farsi and Turkish, and has board certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He has been teaching psychiatry to resident doctors for many years and is a frequent lecturer at national and local conferences on the treatment of mental illness and substance dependence. He was the assistant professor of psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center from 1977-2005 and chief of clinical addiction services at the Center for Compulsive and Addictive Disorder research at Rush University Medical Center from 2006-2001. Dr. Rafeyan has a current academic appointment at Northwestern University and he was chosen as 2007 Top Psychiatrist by Consumer Report.
Dr. Rafeyan is the Presence Behavioral Health Addiction Services Downtown medical director for over ten years which provides outpatient substance abuse treatment for adults.
