Iyad Alkhouri, MD

Dr. Alkhouri received his medical degree from Damascus University in Syria. Following medical school, he served a mandatory two years in the Syrian army as a medical officer. Following his military service, he practiced as a general practitioner in rural areas of Syria until he was able to come to the United States. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks, ND. Then he completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. He also completed a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati. He is board certified in the following areas: psychiatry and neurology, addiction psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Alkhouri is the Presence Behavioral Health Addiction Services Downers Grove medical director where he provides outpatient substance abuse treatment for both adults and adolescents. He is also the medical director of the clinical team that provides the Multidisciplinary Assessment Program, a two-to-three day comprehensive behavioral assessment of physicians and other professionals.
