  • Al-Anon
    The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems.

  • Narcotics Anonymous
    Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts. Membership is open to all drug addicts, regardless of the particular drug or combination of drugs used. Members share their successes and challenges in overcoming active addiction and living drug-free productive lives through the application of the principles contained within the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.

  • The Partnership for a Drug-Free America
    The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is a nonprofit coalition of communication, health, medical and educational professionals working to reduce illicit drug use and help people live healthy, drug-free lives. The Partnership for a Drug-Free America sponsors a wide-spread media campaign, including TV, radio, print and internet ads and offers many sources of free information on the website, such as interactive materials and downloadable brochures.   • National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
    As part of the National Institute of Health, NIDA is a government organization whose mission is to lead the nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. Two critical components are research and the dissemination of information. A wide variety of free information is available for teens, adults, teachers and professionals.   • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
    SAMHSA is a government organization that has established a clear vision for its work - a life in the community for everyone. To realize this vision, the Agency focuses on building resilience and facilitating recovery for people with or at risk for mental or substance use disorders. SAMHSA provides a variety of information, including grant opportunities, statistics and programs for children and adults. Also provides resources in Spanish.

  • American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM)
    The ASAM is a professional organization with a mission to: increase access to and improve the quality of addiction treatment; to educate physicians, health care providers and the public; to support research and prevention; and to establish addiction medicine as a primary specialty.

  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
    NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol related problems. NIAAA conducts and supports scientific research in a wide range of areas such as genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, health risks and benefits of alcohol consumption, prevention and treatment.

  • National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA)
    CASA is the only nation-wide organization that brings together all the professional disciplines needed to study and combat abuse of all substances in all sectors of society. This includes alcohol, nicotine, as well as illegal prescription and performance enhancing drugs.

  • World Health Organization (WHO)
    The WHO is the United Nations specialized agency for health. WHO's objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. The WHO website offers a global perspective on substance abuse and includes statistics and other educational information. Website also available in Spanish.
