Family Week Program
Family Week is an intensive, interactive 3-day (Monday through Wednesday) program designed to provide the opportunity for open communication between family members to begin the healing process. This program is open to family and significant others and family members 14 years and older. It includes education, interaction with other family members and multi-family group therapy that includes the patient.
Feedback from patients has been that Family Week is the "most important and powerful" component of their treatment experience. It is especially important for family members of professionals and out-of-town individuals to participate in this program.
A one-hour family session for loved ones and family members is provided. We encourage all to participate in this session at some point during the treatment course. This is essential for those who cannot participate in Family Week because it is the only opportunity for the clinical staff to meet with the individual. The family therapist or another clinician will telephone to set up a time during the week to meet with the individual. Al-Anon is also strongly encouraged for all family members.
