Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is about regaining the “skills for the job of living.” We work with you on improving disabilities or injuries in order to ensure your quality of life and assist you in becoming as independent as possible. We use tools to improve your physical abilities with the use of behavior modification, activity modification and/or the use of adaptive equipment.

Your limitations are assessed and treated through an individualized treatment program. The Occupational Therapist will then work with you to develop a goal and treatment plan that fits your individual “occupation” or needs.

Specialized Services:

Seating & Mobility
If your illness or injury requires the use of a manual or powered mobility device, our trained therapist will assess your situation and find the mobility device that best suits your needs. We will also educate you on improved posture, safety, and performing other daily activities while using your device.

Work Conditioning
We develop a program to assist you with improving cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and strength in order to complete work related activities safely and with good body mechanics.

Upper Extremity Splinting
Splinting is used to promote healing, protect a joint and/or allow for proper positioning of a joint during healing from injury.

Ergonomic Assessment
Our professionals offer one-on-one consultations with businesses concerned with the health and well being of their employees. We tour the facility and offer an assessment of changes that need to be made to promote safety of workers.

Activities of Daily Living

 Occupational therapy focuses on improving your ability to perform every day tasks. Activities include:

  • Feeding/eating
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Toileting
  • Grooming/hygiene

We also offer caregiver training for those who assist others with their daily activities.
