Nicholas Galanopoulos, MD received his medical degree from University of Chicago Hospitals - Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his residency at University Hospital Case Medical Center - Case Western Reserve University of Medicine, Ohio. He is board certified in Radiation Oncology.

Jessica Garcia, MD received her medical degree from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship at Northwestern University McGaw Medical Center. She is board certified in Hematology, Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Alan Gilman, MD received his medical degree from University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. He completed his residency at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and fellowship at Rush University College of Medicine. He is board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. He is section chief of hematology and oncology at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital and was recognized as one of the nation's top doctors in the US News Media Group's 2011 Top Doctors listing. Dr. Gilman is an assistant professor of medicine at Rush University College of Medicine, a respected faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital and part of the leadership team for the Center for Cancer Care. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Gilman has also been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in the Chicago Metro Area.

Kelley Kozma, D.O. received her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She completed her residency at University of Illinois at Chicago- Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois. where she also served as Chief Resident and completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Kozma is on the medical staff at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital - Chicago. Her clinical interests include blood disorders, leukemia, breast cancer, and gastrointestinal cancers. She is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Other cancer care professionals work with your care team to support your treatment, including:

  • Nurse navigators to guide you through the health care system, providing education about cancer, help in scheduling appointments and emotional support
  • Oncology care coordinator to help patients manage the daily challenges of living with cancer with practical help for financial and transportation needs and access to community resources
  • Genetic counselors, both in person and via phone, who can test for the risk of breast, melanoma, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate and other cancers
  • Oncology dietitian to provide individualized nutrition planning to help patients manage the side effects of cancer and treatment, such as appetite loss, nausea, difficulty chewing or swallowing and weight loss or gain
  • Rehabilitation specialists for physical and occupational therapy and lymphedema treatment for women who have had lymph nodes removed as part of breast cancer surgery
  • Financial counselors to help patients through the health insurance process
