The Wound Healing Center is a multi-disciplinary team of board-certified physicians, nurses, and support staff who provide a comprehensive wound treatment plan and treatment(s) offering a comprehensive approach to wound healing. Using evidenced-based data and best practices, the specialized team is successful at healing chronic, non-healing wounds which are defined as wounds that have not significantly improved from conventional treatments. When a wound persists, a specialized approach is necessary for proper healing to occur.

Wounds for treatment:
Wounds failing to improve with multiple treatments or therapies
Neuropathic ulcers (due to nerve damage)
Pressure ulcers (bed sores)
Ischemic ulcers (poor circulation)
Venous or arterial insufficiency (poor vein function)
Osteomyelitis (bone infection)
Vasculitis (inflamed nerve damage)
Skin tears or lacerations
Soft tissue osteomyelitis (STRN)
Compromised skin flaps or grafts
Methods for treatments:
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) HBO therapy is an intermittent treatment of 100% oxygen at an increased atmospheric pressure, roughly equivalent to a SCUBA diver experience at approximately 30 feet below the water's surface. Patients receive treatment while they relax in a transparent, cylindrical chamber. This therapy improves the body's ability to kill germs and promote healing. It is typically used to treat such problems as diabetic ulcers, circulatory disorders, compromised skin grafts, cyanide or carbon monoxide poisoning, and bone infections. Patients usually receive treatment every day for about two hours, over the course of 8 to 10 weeks.

Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) Delivering negative pressure (a vacuum) at the wound sight through a patented dressing, NPWT helps draw wound edges together, removes infectious materials and actively promote granulation at the cellular level.
Bio-engineered skin substitutes Material taken from human placenta, foreskin of babies, or materials to help stimulate growth and heal wounds.
Total contact cast Reducing pressure on foot wounds.
Wound debridement Gentle removal of necrotic or dead tissue to allow new growth of healthy tissues in the wound, creating an environment that leads to healing.
Compression wrapping Swelling or circulation issues.
Advanced topical dressings There are different types of topical dressings that aid in healing
