The Saint Francis Community Health Center was founded in 1986 on one heartfelt principle – a healthy community begins with healthy children. Children make more than 6,000 visits to the Center each year. The neighborhoods surrounding the Center have high crime rates, drug use is prevalent, and many who live in these neighborhoods are caught in a vicious cycle of poverty. The Saint Francis Community Health Center is a lifeline for the area’s most vulnerable families and their children.

Health risk management at the Center concentrates on prenatal, maternity, pediatric and adult medical care and monitoring gestational diabetes, one of the most common risk factors of pregnancy.

Wellness and health promotion programs include nutrition, well baby, breast-feeding, car safety training and parenting classes. Screening and disease management programs are offered for the major community health risks of diabetes, asthma and hypertension.

The Saint Francis Community Health Center is ready to serve the community, the uninsured and anyone in need of health services. Medicaid, Medicare and many forms of commercial insurance are accepted. Financial assistance is available for families or individuals who have no health insurance coverage or any other means of payment.

Conveniently located at Clark Street near Howard Street, the Saint Francis Community Health Center provides care for all individuals—from newborn babies to older adults. Clinic services, include:
