All three years of our program are dually accredited by ACGME and AOA to bring only the best students to our program.
We are anxious for you to gather all the information you need about our program and will do our best to acquaint you with our people, program and facilities. The West Suburban Family Medicine Residency Program accepts applications only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Your medical school dean's office or the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) will provide additional information about how you can access this process.
After the application materials have been received, the Recruitment Committee will review your file. If your application meets the Recruitment Committee's criteria, the Program Coordinator will invite you via electronic mail to schedule an interview. If possible, applicants invited to interview are urged to schedule the appointment early in the season to allow plenty of time to consider our program. Interview appointments are scheduled October through mid-January. One or two applicants are scheduled to visit per day for an initial interview. Applicants in previous seasons have reported that early interviews provided the opportunity for subsequent informal visits, phone calls and written correspondence throughout the season, especially after the initial interviewing was completed. These additional contacts are encouraged by our program. Also, your consideration in arranging an early interview appointment will assist us in providing the most efficient and informative day for you to learn about our program.
We look forward to hearing from you.
