Clinical Obligations

Clinical class rotations are offered at a variety of hospitals of The Presence Health System currently. Students complete a variety of clinical rotations during the course of the 24-month program. These rotations provide a broad scope of learning situations to increase clinical competence as well as promote general understanding of the many areas of diagnostic imaging. These rotations include five different sites:

  • Presence Saint Francis Hospital
  • Community First Medical Center
  • Presence Saint Joseph Hospital
  • Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center
  • Presence Resurrection Medical Center

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from clinical assignments.

Clinical experience in a variety of shifts also benefits the student. It creates a well-rounded radiographer, experienced in routine procedures as well as emergency patients. This enhances problem solving and critical thinking capabilities and increased responsibility while under the supervision of an experienced technologist.

Our clinical education is divided into six sequential classes. These clinical classes are scheduled on opposite days from classroom instruction. Clinical schedules are available on a semester basis.

Two-week class breaks are scheduled at the end of each 16-week semester and additional vacation time off is detailed in the student handbook. The complete academic calendar is available in the school offices.

Clinical and classroom experiences will not exceed 40 hours per week. Weekdays are given off when weekend clinical classes are scheduled.
