Resident Life

Our residents are the heart of the Saint Joseph Family Medicine Residency Program and once you have the opportunity to meet them, you will certainly see why. Our program truly feels like family. Each June, we are delighted to welcome a class of six new interns, with a total of 18 residents in the program. Each resident is assigned a dedicated faculty advisor to help mentor and guide him or her throughout their three years of training and beyond. Not only does our faculty maintain an open-door approach to education, we often spend time enjoying social events/activities together outside of the hospital and clinic.

Residency Graduation 2012 The Signature Room at The John Hancock Center

Our graduates are successful in finding jobs in the Chicagoland area and abroad; many choosing to join thriving group practices or establishing their private practice while others pursue fellowships and academic/teaching appointments. In fact, many of our program faculty are graduates of the Saint Joseph Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, which we believe speaks volumes regarding how much they enjoyed their residency experience in our setting. We are fortunate to keep in touch with over 35 years of residency alumni, resulting in a broad resource network for our residents upon graduation and wherever their lives and career may take them.
