Guidelines for Residency Applications

Application Criteria

Finding a residency program that fits your educational goals, your geographic needs and your lifestyle is crucial to your success in residency and for many years to come. Application and interview season can be a busy and often exhausting time. Our goal is to make your experience both fun and informative. The UIC/Saint Joseph Family Medicine Residency Program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We accept applications through the Electronic Application Service (ERAS). Please visit the ERAS™ website for detailed application criteria.

Interviews

Interviews are held Mondays and Fridays from approximately 9am to 3pm, during late October through the end of January. Our interview experience includes an opportunity to meet and interact with our faculty and residents in addition to a personally guided tour of both Saint Joseph Hospital and Seton Family Health Center, our inpatient and outpatient academic care facilities.

The interview season closes with our annual Wine and Cheese Reception in which candidates and significant others are invited for a second visit to ask unanswered questions and enjoy a relaxing evening with program faculty and residents.

Please join us for The Annual Wine & Cheese Party!

Interviews are by invitation only. Applicants will be notified by e-mail through ERAS if selected for an interview.
