Undergrad/Grad School/Degree: University of Colorado at Boulder, B.A. Psychology; Indiana University School of Medicine, M.S. Medical Science
Medical School: Indiana University School of Medicine
Hobbies/Interests: Figure skating (former competitor and coach), playing the piano, the performing arts, international travel, enjoying a good laugh and quality time with family and friends, cooking/baking, and working on my "foodie" skills now that I live in the great culinary city of Chicago!
Why I chose Saint Joseph: My decision to attend SJH for residency was as easy as ABC!
A - Approachable attending physicians and residents: You will not find a more supportive, caring, and fun group of people to work with than at Saint Joseph's! I was highly impressed by how much the attendings and residents took a vested interest in my growth and development as a successful family physician.
B - Best location in Chicago! The hospital is located in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of Chicago -- with fabulous views of Lake Michigan and close proximity to parks, bike trails, a golf course, and the Lincoln Park zoo!
C - Challenging yet supportive learning environment: The program provides a variety of clinical experiences in both in the inpatient and outpatient setting that allows you to gain more autonomy as you progress from intern to resident; as well as ample didactic teaching, board review, and elective opportunities.
Favorite place or activity in Chicago: There are too many to mention! But my favorites include strolling along the BEAUTIFUL lakefront, shopping on the Magnificent Mile, enjoying a free concert or festival in Millennium Park, exploring Chicago's wonderful brunch spots, and Garrett's Popcorn of course!
If I had not gone into medicine what I would be doing now: I would be back on the ice as a figure skating coach sharing my love of the sport with other people!
