The obstetric patient population is approximately 50 percent private and 50 percent clinic based patients. The gynecology service is about 70 percent private and 30 percent clinic based.
The clinic receives approximately 11,000 prenatal and 7,000 gynecology visits per year. Saint Francis Hospital has on average 1,500 deliveries and 1,100 gynecologic operations per year. University of Illinois medical students rotate through our department as well as through the medical and surgical services at Saint Francis Hospital.
The program offers weekly lectures, Journal Club, Grand Rounds and Gynecologic Pathology conferences. All resident attend a postgraduate course of their choice each year.
