Conferences

There are over 60 conferences held each month including: Morning Report, Journal Club, Medical Grand Rounds, Professional Lectures Series, and subspecialty conferences. The departmental conferences are held every Tuesday called Protected Educational Time (PET). PET includes morbidity and mortality statistics review, reproductive endocrinology, maternal fetal medicine, surgical core curriculum, laparoscopy, primary gyn, gyn oncology, urogynecology and ob. In addition to the above conferences the residents also participate in the following conferences: PGY1 - Ultrasound, PGY2 - High Risk OB, PGY3 - Gyn, PGY4 - Course of your choice.

  

Schedule of Competency Based Protected Educational Time (P.E.T.)

Tuesday
8:00-9:00 General OB/Gyn Didactics (1st, 2nd, 3rd Tuesday of month). Location: 4th Floor Conference Room. Attending: Drs. Knaus, Jachtorowycz, Johnson, and Cortina on rotating schedule
9:00-10:00 Weekly M & M/ Resident Grand rounds (1, 2, 3rd week of the month). Location: 4th Floor Conference Room. Attending: Dr. Knaus/Faculty
Pathology Conference (4th Tuesday of month). Location: Pathology Conference Room. Attending: Pathologists on rotating schedule
Resident Research Update (5th Tuesday of every 3rd month). Location: 4th Floor Conference Room. Attending: Drs. Knaus and Jachtorowycz
10:00-11:00 Surgical Core Curriculum (lecture 2nd Tuesday, lab 3rd Tuesday of month). Location: 4th Floor Conference Room. Attending: Dr. Bhagan and Dr. Lloyd (New product demo)
11:15-12:00 Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Location: Family Birthplace Conference Room. Attending: Dr. Reinhart
12:00-13:00 Maternal Fetal Medicine. Location: Family Birthplace Conference Room. Attending: MFM faculty on rotating schedule
Friday
7:30-9:00 Department Grand Rounds (1st week Journal Club, 4th week Business meeting). Location: 1 South Conference Room. Attending: Dr. Knaus/Faculty
