About the Director
Teresa Hubka, D.O., FACOOG, FACOG, CS
Program Director and MWU OB/Gyn Department Chair
A native of San Diego, Dr. Hubka received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Davis, and her Masterâ€™s Degree in biology and clinical nutrition science from the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT. Dr. Hubka received her osteopathic medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, IA. She completed an osteopathic internship at Atlantic City Hospital and Medical Center and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Chicago, where she was the Administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Hubka is the founder and medical director of Comprehensive Wellness Care, a general OB/Gyn private practice in Lincoln Park. She is currently on staff at Presence Resurrection Medical Center where she is the Residency Program Director.
Dr. Hubka is dual board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by AOBOG and ABOG. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecologists and a Diplomate of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Hubka is the Immediate Past President of ACOOG and is the advisor and founder of the ACOOG AdHoc Council of Residents. She is a clinical professor of OB/Gyn at Des Moines University and Midwestern University - Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she is the Department Chair of OB/Gyn.
Nationally, Dr. Hubka is newly elected to the AOA Board of Trustees. She is a Past President of the American Osteopathic Foundation and the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society. Dr. Hubka has won awards for her leadership and community service, and is a national speaker on women's health issues. Dr. Hubka is married to John Dunkas and has two children, Nikko and Yanni.
