William Moran, D.O.
Program Director
Dr. Moran graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine/Midwestern University in 1990. He completed his Residency in Family Practice at Chicago Osteopathic Hospital. In addition, he has post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Pathology.
Dr. Moran’s clinical interests include diabetes, asthma and musculoskeletal medicine. Before joining Resurrection, he had been a full-time faculty member of the Saint Francis Family Practice Residency in Lincolnwood, IL. He has been a part-time faculty member at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Sajjini Thomas, M.D.
Associate Director, Obstetrics and Gynecology Coordinator
Dr. Thomas participates in the education and supervision of residents in the Family Health Center with special interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Thomas is a graduate of the Coimbatore Medical College of Madras University in Madras, South India. She also practiced in England as an ophthalmologist after obtaining her diploma in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Dublin, Ireland. She completed a residency in Family Medicine at Resurrection Medical Center and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Michael Ladewski, M.D.
Associate Director
Dr. Ladewski is board certified in Family Medicine and holds a certificate of added qualifications in Primary Care Sports Medicine. Dr. Ladewski graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Resurrection Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. He went on to complete the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Resurrection Medicine Center.
Dr. Ladewski worked for a federally qualified primary care health center in the Hyde Park Area of Chicago where he was adjunct Professor of Family Medicine at The University of Chicago prior to joining the faculty at Resurrection Family Medicine. He is active in the residency's medical education activities including interaction with rotating medical students. His personal interests include running, triathlon and his young family.

Brian Field, MD

Homa Magsi, MD
Associate Director of Geriatric Medicine
Dr. Magsi is board certified in Family Medicine and has her CAQ in Geriatric Medicine. She also has board certification from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
After receiving her medical degree from the Iberoamerican University in the Dominican Republic, she completed a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Magsi completed a two-year fellowship in Clinical Geriatrics at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics/VA-GRECC program in Madison, WI.
Prior to joining our faculty, she worked in a geriatric primary care practice and also served as medical director of a Home Health & Hospice program.
Prior to her medical career, Dr. Magsi worked as a Social Service Director in a nursing home. Her outside interests include jogging, yoga, and reiki.
Mayank Shah, M.D.
Associate Director
My name is Mayank Shah, and I am a Family Physician at Resurrection Medical Center. I did my medical school training at Northwestern University Medical School and my residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. I have a variety of interests including outpatient office procedures, child and women's health, Geriatric care, Alternative medicine including ancient Indian Ayurvedic Medicine, and spirituality and health. I have a CAQ in Hospice and Palliative medicine. I have worked as a Faculty in a Residency Program for 10 years before joining Resurrection. I have also been the medical director of a Hospice program for last three years.
In my free time, I like being active with outdoor sports. I enjoy biking, hiking, jogging, kayaking and traveling. I exercise at the Gym at least five days of the week. My dream is to travel the world someday with my wife.
My philosophy of care is holistic care for my patients. I enjoy not just being their physician, but also their friend and health advocate.
I volunteer as a Physician at a free clinic located at a Hindu temple in Bensenville on a monthly basis. I am also a part time Hindu priest and able to perform all Vedic ceremonies. My best experience as a priest has been to be able to perform a Hindu wedding ceremony for two of my residents this past year.

Poonam Thaker, MD, is board certified in Family Medicine and has her Certificate of Added Qualification in Primary Care Sports Medicine. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., and her medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University/The Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Ill.

Stephen Romm, PsyD
Behavioral Science Coordinator
Dr. Romm has been the Director of Assessment for Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago since 1991. He has been active as an outpatient psychotherapist with Saint Francis Hospital's Comprehensive Mental Health Center since 1997 where he has preformed psychotherapy and psychological assessment with individuals and family.
Dr. Romm has been a faculty member with the Illinois School of Professional Psychology where he taught graduate-level psychology course.

Matthew Brown, M.D.
Executive Director of Medical Education, Family Physician
Dr. Brown is a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Medicine, and completed his Family Medicine residency at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois. He has been involved in medical education ever since. He holds a faculty appointment at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Michael Plunkett, M.D.

Dr. Plunkett earned his medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at University of Illinois Hospitals. He was a Fellow of the National Center for Medical Education, serving his fellowship in general medicine at University of Chicago. He also has an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, Evanston, IL. Dr. Plunkett is board certified in internal medicine, and is on the Medical Staff of Resurrection Medical Center and other community hospitals in the neighborhood.
Dr. Plunkett enjoys caring for patients of all ages but has a special affinity for elderly patients (and they seem to like him, too). He has a passion for teaching young doctors and is involved in the family practice education program at Resurrection Medical Center.
Dr. Plunkett is conversant in Spanish and Italian.
