Considerations When Applying
All candidates must have citizenship, permanent visa, or renewable work authorization. We are unable to sponsor H or J visas. Due to licensing difficulties in the State of Illinois, graduates that have been out of the licensed practice of Medicine more than 5 years are less likely to be considered. US medical system experience is a true advantage including familiarity with US pharmaceutical and insurance systems. Application must show attempts to keep up with changes in medicine including CME courses if out of school more than a year.
All international medical graduate's must have a valid ECFMG certificate (an Illinois licensure requirement) to obtain an interview. Candidates who have completed the CSA or other skills assessment will have a slight advantage over those equivalent candidates who don't. All documents must have certified translations if not in English. Letters of recommendation should be from physicians who know your professional skills, not just know you personally.
