Annabel N. Yuen, DO
Medical School: Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (Midwestern University)
About Me: I was born and raised in Manhattan to hardworking parents from Hong Kong. I grew up with two amazing younger sisters, a nurse and a lawyer. Our humbling beginnings helped us grow to be strong and independent individuals. My first memorable medical experience involved witnessing a c-section when I was 14 years old while volunteering in the Maternal/Baby Unit at NYU Downtown Hospital. I attended the "Fame" high school as a vocal major. Some of the more noteworthy alumni include Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Lawrence Fishborne, Jennifer Aniston and the list goes on. My interest in singing never deterred me from pursuing a career in medicine. After graduating from Syracuse University with a dual degree in Biology and Psychology, I settled in Boston for 3 years to do clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital in the GI Motility Lab. Ideally in ten years, I would have had a family of my own, shared a practice with my friends perhaps a medical home, and lived in at least 5 major cities.
Why Resurrection: 1. Extremely supportive family practice residents 2. Enthusiastic attending physicians 3. Friendly hospital staff 4. Community-based hospital 5. Being able to work with residents from other fields of medicine 6. Working with patients from all walks of life 7. Easy access to the highway 8. Cafeteria 9. The Barn!
