Shakil Hafiz, DO
Medical School: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine
About Me: Hey everyone my name is Shakil Hafiz. I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. I went to high school in villa park and I went to college at Benedictine University in Lisle. I lived right down the street from CCOM but before med school started I got married so my wife and I decided to explore new frontiers. We ended up going to AZCOM instead (Phoenix, Arizona). We had a great time over there and it was a great experience for us to move away from home and experience the southwest, American culture. After 4 years of living in the desert, I decided to bring my talents back to Chicago, so here we are!
Why Resurrection: In Medical school, I really enjoyed doing everything. Everyone says, it was a great problem to have, but it made it difficult to decide what to do. That is why I chose Family Medicine. You really do see and manage everyone and everything in family practice. Resurrection Medical Center is a great place to do your training. The people here are extremely nice. And I am very happy that I matched into this program and if I had to do it again, I would.
