Ryan Alexander, DO
Medical School: Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine
About me: The son of missionary parents, I was born and spent the first eleven years of my life overseas in Africa and Ukraine. Eventually that life became too boring so we moved to Indianapolis, IN. I attended undergrad at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers) and after graduating chose to come to Chicago for my medical school education. I love exploring Chicago and living in the Little Italy area, I enjoy pretending I can sing, Colts football, Hoosiers anything, and watching almost any sport (hockey was a little tough to get into since central Indiana doesn't really think it exists). And I think the biggest tragedy that could ever befall the human race would be if Coke ceased to exist.
Why Resurrection: Resurrection was my first rotation of 4th year and I immediately loved it here. I have rotated at/interviewed at so many great programs in the Chicagoland area, but I felt that the environment here was the most welcoming and kind. The residents and faculty are worked hard but you can tell they are truly happy here, which is reflected in their excellent patient care. Ultimately I chose Resurrection because I believed it could help mold me into the type of doctor I want to be.
