Cover the Uninsured Week
Today, 47 million Americans have no health insurance, including more than 9 million children. Eight out of 10 uninsured Americans either work or are in working families but still cannot afford health insurance. Being uninsured could mean families may not seek needed care and minor illnesses can become major ones because care is delayed.
Resurrection Health Care supports and participates in the annual Cover the Uninsured Week campaign to help raise awareness of the plight of uninsured persons and share how our own financial and charity care programs and eight accessible, affordable community clinics are dedicated to helping the underserved. Our commitment to improving the health and well being of the community is integral to our mission, values and guiding principles.

The Catholic Health Association has articulated its values and developed principles for health care reform - "Our Vision for U.S. Health Care". Visit their website for more information.
Before substantial changes can be made to the nation's health care system, the public must understand and endorse the notion that health care for everyone is a moral and practical priority. Once the public is fully engaged around this issue, pressure will build for lawmakers to take decisive action. We urge you to contact your elected officials and ask them to make health care coverage for all Americans a priority.
