Presence Saint Joseph Hospital Surgeon Participates in 1st Annual Illinois Bariatric Summit

Chicago, Ill. – June 25, 2013 – Presence Saint Joseph Hospital surgeon, Rami Lutfi, MD, co-medical director of the Chicago Institute of Advanced Bariatrics and President of the Illinois Association of Bariatric Surgeons, planned and participated in the 1st Annual Illinois Bariatric Summit June 13 and 14.

The summit, held in downtown Chicago, was hosted by the Illinois Association of Bariatric Surgeons. More than 70 attendees, including physicians, dieticians, nurses and support staff, discussed surgical strategies, challenges in bariatric surgery and even watched a live surgery being performed via video stream.

“The Summit is a great forum for bariatric clinicians to exchange ideas, information and experience in the field of bariatric surgery,” said Dr. Lutfi. “Our goal is to improve the quality of care and outcomes for bariatric surgery patients.”
