Linda Ramirez is Recipient of Sister Gregory Excellence Award at Resurrection Medical Center
Chicago, IL (June 13, 2012)
Resurrection Medical Center nurse manager Linda Ramirez of Roselle, IL is the recipient of the Sister Gregory excellence in leadership award. The award is named for Sister Gregory Krzak, the first administrator of Resurrection Medical Center, and is given annually to a nurse whose demonstrated leadership reflects the core values and mission of Resurrection Health Care.
Ramirez’ team recorded one of the highest patient satisfaction scores in the Resurrection Health Care system, which includes six hospitals. She is also recognized for opening clear lines of communication with the physicians who admit to her units, and following up with every concern brought to her attention. She has a reputation for her firm belief in uninterrupted time for patients, for holding staff accountable, and for being available for counseling and coaching.
Ramirez became interested in nursing when she was in elementary school, and now has 30 years of experience. She is a graduate of St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago and received her master’s degree in nursing administration from West Suburban College of Nursing, now Resurrection University, in Oak Park, IL.
“I love my job,” said Ramirez, who manages a stroke rehabilitation unit and an oncology unit. “I have two great teams of people. Resurrection Medical Center is like a family. We are all here for the common purpose of assuring excellent, patient-centered care. It makes my job, and my life, worthwhile.”
Resurrection Medical Center, 7435 W. Talcott Ave., Chicago, is an award-winning, 360-bed academic teaching hospital and full service medical center. Visit www.reshealth.org.
